Ming Gong

Hi, I’m Ming, first year ECE PhD student at Carnegie Mellon University, advised by Professor Ken Mai. I received my BS in Computer Engineering from Columbia University, having completed the 3-2 combined plan with Bard College at Simon’s Rock, where I studied Physics.

Research

I’m interested at the intersection of circuit design and low-level systems. My interests include:

• IC Design: Digital and analog integrated circuits
• Hardware Acceleration: Designing custom accelerators on various FPGAs
• Systems Programming: Building efficient system software

I like to master hard and interesting classes, and pass my knowledge to others.

Personal

I am a dedicated roadgeek and enthusiast of all forms of buses, subways, and their intersections. I love long road trips and extended bu rides as a way to unwind.

I was a PvZ YouTuber. I’m mostly retired, but I still play casually from time to time.

I love archiving. I keep records of my old files, and it is always fun to look back at them. This website serves my purpose well too!
